Rights of the data subject


Rights of the data subject and the conditions for exercising rights are regulated by Articles 12 to 22 of Chapter III of the General Data Protection Regulation  and Article 23 sets out the cases in which these rights may be restricted by legislative measures of the European Union or a Member State.

As data subject, you have the following rights:
The right to be informed (Articles 13-14 of the General Data Protection Regulation).
The right of access (Article 15 of the General Data Protection Regulation).
The right to rectification (Article 16 of the General Data Protection Regulation).
The right to erasure (‘right to be forgotten’) (Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation).
The right to restriction of data processing (Article 18 of the General Data Protection Regulation).
The right to data portability (Article 20 of the General Data Protection Regulation).
The right to object (Article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation).

 


Exercising of data subject's rights at the Center of Registers
The right to be informed is implemented at the Center of Registers by providing you with privacy notices on the website of the Centre of Registers, as well as information may be provided by e-mail, in customer service units or contacting by phone, and to the employees of the Centre of Registers privacy notices are available on intranet.
 
Other data subject’s rights you can exercise by submitting a written request for the exercise of data subject rights, signed with a physical or qualified electronic signature and confirming your personal identity.
 
You can make your request in free form, specifying which data subject right you wish to exercise and provide as much information as possible to enable the right(s) to be properly exercised (e.g. if you wish to have your data rectified, please specify which of your personal data is inaccurate). You can also use this recommended form of request.
 
The request can be made:
  • In person at the Customer Service Unit of the Centre of Registers;
  • By mail or by courier service to the address: Studentų g. 39, LT-08106 Vilnius;
  • By e-mail: info@registrucentras.lt;
  • Using the National Information System for Electronic Delivery of Parcels via the Postal Network
 
Your request shall be examined and a reply given no later than one month after receiving the request. 
You can also obtain information about the data we process about you in the relevant state registers and information systems via self-service of the Centre of Registers by logging into your account.
You can exercise the data subject's rights yourself or through your representative. In this case, your representative must present a document certifying his/her representation (or a copy thereof certified in accordance with the procedure established by law) and confirm his/her identity.
 
Please note that when the Centre of Registers processes your personal data in the state registers and information systems on behalf of data controllers such as ministries of the Republic of Lithuania or other state institutions, the rights of the data subject shall be exercised in accordance with the procedure established by these controllers.
 

 


You also have the right to make a complaint if you think that the Centre of Registers violates the General Data Protection Regulation or other legal acts regulating the processing of personal data. 

A complaint can be submitted to the State Data Protection Inspectorate (contacts: L. Sapiegos g. 17, LT-10312 Vilnius, ada@ada.lt, https://vdai.lrv.lt/) in accordance with the procedure established by the Law on Legal Protection of Personal Data of the Republic of Lithuania.
